task overview
Band 8c Clinical/Forensic Psychologist - 0.8wte - Community Recovery Team - Swanswell Point, Coventry.
We are using community mental health transformation funding to develop a new mental health forensic team.
We are looking for a Forensic Psychologist who is passionate about making a difference for people living with mental illness, but who also exhibits the risks and behaviors that bring them into the forensic field. Your expertise, experience and skills are in high demand. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team comprising nursing, social work or support work and psychiatry (this list is not exhaustive)
This is a truly exciting time, and the Community Mental Health Transformation Program will change the way we work and deliver mental health services.
Note that many Trust interviews are conducted through Microsoft Teams, these can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play to use on your phone/tablet.
Main Responsibilities of the Job
This message was an important part of the early development of our own community mental health forensic team. The team will provide specialist interventions in Coventry and Warwickshire, including case management, specialist assessment, advice and liaison.
You work closely with senior managers and colleagues to develop services. You will help develop treatment curricula, processes and structures, and establish effective multi-agency practices. Plus, you perform clinical work right away. We encourage you to work closely with your forensic colleagues on the Learning Disabilities and Autism Council Forensic Assessment Advice, Training and Treatment team so that you are supported in your work.
As a Consulting Clinical/Forensic Psychologist, you will work with Operations Managers and Professional Leaders to provide psychological leadership and contribute to trust-wide development of community forensic services. You will work primarily with at-risk people with complex issues and their families, providing rehabilitation and abuse/risk-based interventions in the community. As part of the psychology team, you are expected to support the training and development of clinical psychology students, clinical psychology assistants and other practitioners. Research matters and we are the pilot of two large multicentre research trials of psychological interventions for psychiatric disorders.
